Dr. KDSS Front KDSS Sway Bar End Adapters

Designed for 2.25” + lift on KDSS equipped 2010-24 4Runner/GX460/GX470

Can not be combined with KDSS Drop Spacer, the use of both will have the sway bar too far forward, contacting the front crossmember and skid plate.

When using extended travel shocks with low ride height these adapters should be combined with the Dr. KDSS bushing bracket.

For GX470 applications, the bushing brackets must be used to avoid having to modify the OEM brackets.

  • Sold as a pair (left and right)
  • Made from 7075 Aircraft Billet Aluminum
  • Allows the suspension to cycle cleaner
  • Keeps the sway bar up high away from skid plate and objects
  • Extends the life of bushings
  • Allows for full droop when used with extended travel or long travel setup
  • Lightens up the spring rate on the front sway bar.
  • Creates a floor jack point

KDSS was never designed to be lifted. When you raise the ride height, the bushings on the lower control arms take on an incorrect angle and the bushings bind up. These KDSS bushing adapters push the sway bar forward away from the frame so there’s no contact allowing more droop.

*Factory bracket hooks must be cut off the bottom of the bushing bracket

Installation Guide
Tools Required:

19mm socket wrench
Torque wrench
Rubber mallet
Panel removal tool
Zip ties
Protective gloves
Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Vehicle:

Park on a flat surface and ensure the vehicle is securely supported with jack stands.
Remove the front wheels for better access to the sway bar.
2. Loosen Existing Hardware:

Using a 19mm socket, remove the factory sway bar bolts and carefully set them aside.
If you're working on a GX470, be sure to modify the OEM bushing bracket hooks and mounting holes for a proper fit if you're not using the recommended Drkdss bushing bracket.
3. Install the KDSS Adapters:

Position the new adapters onto the factory sway bar mounts.
Use the provided M12 bolts to secure the adapters in place, following the specified bolt size for each mounting point:
Ensure the adapters align correctly and are positioned to allow sway bar movement without obstruction.
4. Tighten and Secure:

Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's recommended specifications.
Use a rubber mallet to gently adjust positioning if needed.
5. Check Clearance:

Verify that the sway bar does not make contact with any surrounding components, such as the frame or skid plates.
6. Final Inspection:

Lower the vehicle and test the suspension movement to ensure full range of motion without binding.
Take a short test drive and inspect for any unusual noises or alignment issues.
