Dr. KDSS B.O.T.C.K - Bolt On Track Bar Correction Kit 2003-2024 4Runner/GX/FJ Cruiser

What It Does

  • Fixes that sketchy, side-to-side axle swing after a lift.
  • Brings your track bar (panhard bar) back to a more natural, level position.
  • Keeps your rig tracking straight, planted, and predictable on-road and off.
Bolt-on design — no welding, no guesswork.

Why It Matters

  • When you lift your rig, the track bar angle gets steep. That forces the axle to swing left/right instead of moving up/down — making the rear feel unstable.
  • The B.O.T.C.K. raises the pivot point to flatten that bar and bring your handling back to normal. Simple fix, huge difference.

Shorty vs. Regular – Pick the Right One

How to Pick the Correct B.O.T.C.K. Version

  1. Park on level ground.

  2. Measure from the ground to the center of the frame-side track-bar bolt.

  3. Measure from the ground to the center of the axle-side track-bar bolt.

  4. Subtract the two measurements to find your bolt-height difference:

    • 1.5"–2.99" → Shorty Version (or use the bottom hole on the Standard bracket)

    • 3" or higher → Standard Version (use the top hole)

Planning to lift higher later? Go with the Standard Version — it gives you extra mounting options as your suspension height changes.

Installation Guide
Tools Required:

Socket wrench set (including 19mm and 22mm)
Torque wrench
Jack and jack stands
Pry bar
Thread locker (recommended)
Safety gloves and eye protection
Installation Steps:

1. Preparation:

Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
Use jack stands to support the rear axle and ensure proper clearance.
Remove the rear wheels for easier access.
2. Removing the Factory Track Bar:

Loosen the frame-side track bar bolt to relieve tension.
Remove the track bar bolt from the axle side using a 19mm socket.
Secure the factory bar out of the way using a bungee cord or zip ties.
3. Installing the New Track Bar:

Position the new track bar in place, aligning it with the factory mounting points.
Insert the OEM main bolt first into the frame-side bracket, securing it loosely.
Install the provided hardware, including the bottom and side bolts.
Tighten all bolts incrementally to ensure proper alignment.
4. Torque Specifications:

105 ft-lbs on all bolts with lots of blue Loctite (or a little red). If you send it with and 18v impact you still couldn’t break the bolts. 125lbs is the max torque.
5. Final Checks:

Inspect for any potential clearance issues and ensure proper alignment.
Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and perform a short test drive.
Re-torque all bolts after 100 miles of driving.
