Engineered for the most demanding service, these XHD Rock Sliders have been intricately developed to maximize strength, while optimizing materials to manage weight and maintain available payload.

The most common necessity of rock sliders is that they perform well as a set of steps, as they will be used usually hundreds of times for the sake of access for every impact they take; an effective step system is paramount, and it was noticed that once any debris coated the surface, or if the vehicle was operated on an incline, that the standard solutions of grip tape or dimple dies were totally insufficient. This led to the development of the integrated TerraCleat system. Through the use of an adjustable set of stainless steel cleats that are uniquely tailored to each access point along the cab & bed, Dethloff was able to provide a sure footing regardless of weather condition, debris or incline, while preventing injury or damage to footwear. The placement of the TerraCleats allows confident traction when stepping onto them, while also preventing unintentional contact or injury by grazing against the side of the outer rails. The TerraCleat system provides dependable all-weather traction for surefooted access to the vehicle and your gear, both on the trail and day-to-day. Aesthetics are cared for with direct-match finish to the OEM trim in color, texture and sheen, and is given longevity by an abrasion-resistant and corrosion-inhibiting base coat.

Constructed of a main beam of 2″x3″x.188 wall steel oriented in it’s strong axis, this gave the ability to achieve a 13% greater strength than a heavier 1/4″ walled material laid flat in its’ weak axis, with a 22% weight savings. By orienting the beam just outside the pinch weld of the body panels, this increases the ground clearance of the main beam, and offset the outer rail upwards for higher clearance than a conventional frame-mounted rock slider is capable of. The outer rail is CNC formed from high strength .188 wall DOM tubing, and includes a rear kickout to protect the sidewalls of the rear tires from damage, and to offer a larger rear step portion for bed, rack, and tent/camper access. Connecting the main beam to the frame plates is a system of 2″ square beams in .250″ and .188″ wall thicknesses, supported by .375″ and .250″ gussets which have been applied to the maximum possible geometry available. All frame mounting hardware in the impact/tension side is used in triplicate and duplicate arrangement for increased clamp load and failure-proof redundancy. Mounting points are keyed against the frame via the hardware to prevent frame slippage under extreme impacts, and installation is made faster and easier via careful planning of mounting locations and hardware access.
