Everybody loves the idea of a 37-inch Tacoma.

Until they drive one.

The bigger tires look great, but they add weight. Add armour, camping gear, recovery equipment, and suddenly that little V6 is working a lot harder than Toyota ever intended.

That was one of the challenges with this build.

The owner wanted a truck that could wheel hard, carry a full camping setup, and still be enjoyable to drive every day. Not a trail-only truck. Not a dedicated overland build. Something that could do both.

The answer was to build the whole truck around balance.

The suspension starts with ELKA 2.5 DC Reservoir Coilovers and Rear Shocks, paired with Dobinsons upper control arms, ICON RXT leaf packs, BTF lower control arms, DRT shackle hangers, and Timbren bump stops. The truck rides surprisingly well considering everything that's been added and has no problem handling rough terrain, camping gear, or long highway drives.

The 37-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts give the truck the clearance and capability needed for difficult trails, while the supporting modifications like the C4 Body Mount Relocate and High Clearance Fender Kit make sure they actually fit properly.

Then comes the fun part.

Rather than accepting the performance loss that often comes with larger tires, the truck received a combination of Yukon 5.29 gears, a Magnuson Supercharger, and a YotaWerx Stryker Tune.

The gears help bring back the low-end torque and drivability that often disappears once 37s are installed, while the supercharger adds the power needed to move the extra weight with confidence. Together, they completely transform how the truck drives.

Of course, getting to camp is only half the story.

The Sherpa Grand Teton Roof Rack, RLD Design Canopy, and iKamper Skycamp Mini create a simple but incredibly effective camping setup. Add in the Long Range America fuel tank and suddenly those "maybe that's too far away" destinations start looking a lot more realistic.

The truck also received plenty of supporting upgrades including a C4 Fabrication Hybrid Front Bumper, Warn EVO 10-S Winch, Greenlane Hybrid Sliders, Powerbrake X-Line Brakes, ARB Twin Compressor, Safari Snorkel, Morimoto 4Banger lights, and Total Chaos reinforcement components.

It's the kind of truck that can spend all day on the trail, set up camp in minutes, and then do it all again the next morning.

And honestly, that's exactly what makes it cool.

A huge thank you to the owner for trusting KRAVE Automotive with the build. We had a blast putting this one together and we hope it sees plenty of dirt, campfires, and questionable decisions in the years ahead.
