Built to handle family adventures, backcountry exploration, and everything in between, the KA35 Sequoia is a well-rounded expedition vehicle that combines comfort, capability, and practicality into one impressive package.
The foundation of the build starts with a set of Fuel D600 Vector wheels measuring 18x9 with a +20 offset, wrapped in 35x12.50R18 Yokohama Geolandar G015 all-terrain tires. This combination delivers excellent road manners, confident off-road traction, and a rugged stance that perfectly suits the Sequoia platform.
Suspension duties are handled by Elka 2.5 IFP front coilovers paired with Elka 2.0 rear shocks and heavy-duty Old Man Emu rear coil springs. To further improve load-carrying capability, the rear suspension is supported by an onboard air bag system complete with an integrated compressor. Whether carrying camping gear, passengers, or towing equipment, the suspension can be adjusted to maintain proper ride height and handling.
At the front of the vehicle, an ARB Summit Bumper provides both protection and recovery capability. Integrated into the bumper is a Smittybilt X20 10,000 lb synthetic rope winch with wireless remote, complemented by a Factor 55 Hawse Fairlead and FlatLink Expert. A TRD skid plate protects critical components underneath the vehicle when venturing off the pavement.
Performance and reliability upgrades continue under the hood with the addition of a Volant snorkel and cold air intake system, along with a Northstar Group 27F battery. Managing the vehicle's growing list of accessories is a Switch-Pros 9100 power management system, providing simple and reliable control from the driver's seat.
Lighting is one area where this build truly shines. Baja Designs LP6 driving lights provide exceptional long-range illumination, while Squadron Pro wide-cornering fog lights and Squadron Sport ditch lights dramatically improve visibility on dark roads and trails. Additional S2 Sport chase lights and rack-mounted lighting ensure the truck remains visible and functional long after the sun goes down.
For storage and expedition capability, the Sequoia features a Front Runner Slimline II roof rack paired with a Pelican Vault rooftop cargo box, providing secure storage for bulky gear and equipment. Out back, a RIGd UltraSwing with integrated table adds additional functionality and creates a convenient workspace for meals, trail repairs, and campsite organization.
The end result is a Sequoia that is equally comfortable tackling long highway drives, hauling the family to the mountains, or exploring remote destinations far from the pavement. Thoughtfully equipped and built with adventure in mind, the KA35 is ready for whatever the next trip has in store.
