Not every build needs massive lifts, aggressive armour, or a long list of modifications to stand out.

Sometimes the goal is simply to take a great truck and make it better.

That was the vision behind this Ram 2500. The owner wanted improved capability, a more aggressive stance, and the ability to run 37-inch tires, all while maintaining the comfort, reliability, and factory-like driving experience that make these trucks such great daily drivers, tow rigs, and road-trip machines.

To achieve that goal, we turned to American Expedition Vehicles.

At the heart of the build is the AEV DualSport Suspension System featuring Bilstein 8100 shocks. Designed specifically for the Ram HD platform, the system improves ride quality both on and off-road while maintaining the refined handling characteristics expected from a modern heavy-duty truck.

The suspension provides the clearance needed for one of the biggest visual upgrades on the truck, a set of AEV Salta HD wheels wrapped in 37-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires. The wheel and tire package completely transforms the truck's appearance while improving ground clearance and off-road capability, all without looking out of place on the vehicle.

To ensure everything worked exactly as intended, we also installed the AEV ProCal Snap system. This allows the truck to properly recalibrate for the larger tire size, correcting the speedometer and integrating seamlessly with the factory TPMS system. It's one of those small details that often gets overlooked but makes a huge difference in how the truck performs day to day.

Beyond the suspension and wheel package, this Ram received several additional AEV upgrades designed to improve both functionality and capability.

Up front, we installed the AEV Ram HD Front Low Tube Kit along with the AEV 7" Off-Road Light Kit. The combination adds substantial nighttime visibility while maintaining the clean, integrated appearance that AEV products are known for. Mounted to the front tube are a pair of powerful LED driving lights that look like they could have come from the factory.

To round out the recovery setup, a collection of Factor 55 accessories was added to the front bumper. Not only do they provide practical recovery functionality, but they also help create a clean, purposeful appearance without unnecessary clutter.

For extended travel and backcountry exploration, the truck was also equipped with an AEV Snorkel Kit and an AEV Ram HD Intercooler Skid Plate. The snorkel helps provide cleaner airflow in dusty conditions while adding a signature expedition-ready look, while the intercooler skid plate protects critical components from rocks, debris, and unexpected trail obstacles.

What we love most about this build is how cohesive it feels. Nothing looks out of place, nothing feels overdone, and every modification serves a purpose. It's still unmistakably a Ram 2500, just a more capable version of itself.

With the AEV DualSport Suspension, Bilstein 8100 shocks, Salta HD wheels, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires, ProCal Snap calibration system, AEV lighting package, snorkel, intercooler protection, and Factor 55 recovery accessories, this truck delivers exactly what the owner was after: improved capability without sacrificing the factory driving experience.

It's clean, functional, and ready for anything from daily driving and towing duties to long-distance adventures off the beaten path.

Sometimes less really is more.

We'd like to thank the owner for trusting KRAVE Automotive with the build. Projects like this remind us that some of the best modifications are the ones that look like they belonged there from day one.

Cheers,

KRAVE Automotive
