Dr. KDSS Front Bushing Bracket

Designed for 5th Gen 4Runners, Lexus GX460

Sold in pairs

*Will work for GX470 applications when combined with the Dr. KDSS Billet Adapters

When you lift the front end of a KDSS 4Runner or GX around the 2” mark, the angles of the sway bar interfacing with the outer end bushing a bind occurs which creates resistance for the sway bar to slide in and out of the bushing during suspension cycle. These brackets allow adjustments when required for correction of that angle.

These brackets pair really well with the Dr. KDSS adapters, as they are designed to correct bushing angle together, and allow full droop with extended travel shocks. Using OEM brackets and adapters means you must cut off the hooks in order for the OEM bracket to mount to the adapters.

When utilizing these adapters to correct the bushing angle and maximizing full droop while running a low ride height, the adapters create a slight over-clocking of the bushing angle. This is where the combination of the adapters and bracket come into play. The Dr. KDSS bracket allows you to correct the over-clocking.

Applications with no lift can still benefit from the use of these brackets, as they allow for an easier installation due to the long-slotted radius mounting hole.

Installation Guide
Tools Required:

19mm socket wrench
Torque wrench
Rubber mallet
Jack and jack stands
Zip ties
Protective gloves
Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Vehicle:

Park on a flat, level surface and ensure the vehicle is securely supported with jack stands.
Remove the front wheels for better access to the KDSS sway bar.
2. Loosen the OEM Brackets:

Using a 19mm socket, loosen and remove the factory bushing brackets.
If you are installing on a GX470, ensure you have the required billet adapters, or you will need to modify the OEM hooks and mounting holes.
3. Install the KDSS Bushing Bracket:

Position the new Drkdss bushing bracket over the sway bar bushing.
Align the bracket’s mounting holes with the OEM bracket holes.
Use the provided hardware or OEM bolts to secure the bracket loosely.
4. Fine-Tune Adjustment:

Use the long slotted radius mounting hole to make any necessary adjustments for optimal sway bar positioning.
If using with KDSS billet adapters, ensure the setup aligns properly without binding.
5. Tighten and Secure:

Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's recommended specifications.
Double-check all connections to ensure a secure fit and avoid movement during suspension travel.
6. Final Inspection:

Lower the vehicle and test articulation by cycling the suspension to check for any potential bushing bind.
Take a short test drive to confirm improved sway bar performance and alignment.
