BAJA Bound Tacoma
Built for long days on remote trails and extended camping adventures far from the pavement, this Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road came to KRAVE Automotive ahead of a major trip through Baja, Mexico.
The goal was simple, create a capable, reliable, and comfortable platform that could handle thousands of kilometres of backroads, desert tracks, and remote campsites while carrying everything needed for life off the grid.
Up front, a C4 Fabrication Overland Front Bumper provides protection and recovery capability, paired with a ComeUp Seal Slim winch for those moments when the trail gets a little more challenging. Lighting duties are handled by a set of Baja Designs LP4 driving lights, Squadron Sport pods mounted in the bumper pockets, and a Baja Designs S8 light bar mounted above for exceptional visibility after dark.
Suspension was upgraded with Elka 2.5 DSC coilovers and shocks, dramatically improving ride quality, control, and comfort on rough terrain while maintaining excellent on-road manners.
For extended travel, the truck received a Safari Snorkel complete with a Syklone 9000 pre-filter, helping keep dust and debris out of the intake system during long stretches of desert driving. A Sherpa Animas roof rack provides additional storage capacity and serves as a mounting platform for onboard solar equipment, recovery gear, and accessories.
The camping setup centres around a Super Pacific camper shell, transformed into a highly functional overland living space with a custom interior build by Fhart Systems. The result is a comfortable, organized, and efficient camp setup capable of supporting extended trips far from civilization.
Finishing off the build is a set of Stealth Custom Series Ray10 wheels wrapped in 35-inch Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 tires
, delivering the traction and durability needed for everything from rocky mountain trails to Baja desert terrain.
With premium suspension, thoughtful storage solutions, integrated recovery gear, off-grid power capability, and a fully built-out camping system, this Tacoma is ready for wherever the road, or lack of one, leads next.
